With the year coming to an end it is time to see which were the most popular brands of 2022! This video is based on the Lyst Index a quarterly ranking of fashion’s hottest brands. The formula behind The Lyst Index takes into account Lyst shoppers’ behaviour, including searches on and off platform, product views and sales. To track brand and product heat, the formula also incorporates social media mentions, activity and engagement statistics worldwide.
So, without further ado here are The 10 Hottest Brands of 2022:
1. Gucci
Gucci’s year was market by amazing fashion show and great collaborations. The brand’s latest collection was modeled by 68 sets of identical twins, making it super popular on social media. Gucci unveiled a collaboration with Harry Styles that appeals to the brand’s younger clientele. Gucci also launched this year the trendy Adidas x Gucci Gazelle sneakers, the most popular sneaker of the year. When it comes to bags, the brand made two big launches, the Attache and the Blondie, both of them very popular now.
Gucci continues to trend with both great design and some viral moments, combining the best of both, this is the hottest brand of 2022!
2. Balenciaga
This year Balenciaga had many viral fashion moments, celebrity endorsements and trendy designs. Balenciaga is re-writing the rules of what it means to be a luxury fashion brand today, and supercharging customer intent in the process. The brand’s Snow Storm show was not only trending on social media but also presented some of the trendiest pieces of the year. Perhaps the most popular bag of the year the Balenciaga Le Cagole has definitely achieved It Bag status, it is hard to go on social media and not see this bag. Some controversial Balenciaga products have been the garbage bag and the chip bag, not really wearable pieces but that generate the buzz the brand wants.
Some celebrities to participate in Balenciaga campaigns or fashion shows were Kim Kardashian, Justin Bieber, Dua Lipa and Nicole Kidman.
3. Prada
Some of the most popular products of the year were Prada, like the Triangle bag, the leather loafers, the Symbole sunglasses and the logo tank top. With creative directors Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons Prada’s new collections were met with high demand. A new bag called the Re-Edition 1995 is also achieving it bag status, becoming a chic staple of the brand. This year the brand relied on great design and products instead of viral fashion moments, and it paid off.
Elegant, chic and minimalist Prada is at an all-time high!
4. Valentino
What a year this was for Valentino! The year started with the viral Valentino Pink Collection, made entirely of pink and black, that was an instant hit with celebrities and consumers alike. The Valentino Tan-Go Platform Pumps were some of the most popular heels of the year, sold in many colors, it really is a hit. The brand tapped Lewis Hamilton and Zendaya as the faces of the Pink PP campaign. When it comes to bags the brand’s new One Stud bag was a big hit!
This year we saw many celebrities in Pink Valentino outfits, on red carpets, cementing the brands place as one of the Hottest brands of the year!
5. Louis Vuitton
In the beginning of the year Louis Vuitton presented the final collections of the late creative director Virgil Abloh. The brand opened new French ateliers to revamp production in order to keep up with increasing demand. Louis Vuitton also launched some new bags this year, the Loop was the most popular, with its crescent shape it is very trendy.
Vuitton is one of the top brands on the luxury market, their bags are always some of the most sought-after in the market, and this year it was no different.
6. Dior
Dior is one of the top tier brands in the luxury market, so they are always popular, although we didn’t see much from Dior this year. The brand launched a collaboration with Birkenstock that was very popular. They also launched new Y2K inspired bags the Vibe Bowling bag and Vibe Hobo bag, neither of them was a big hit.
But of course their classic bags like the Lady Dior and the Book Tote remain as popular as ever, keeping the brand relevant and desirable.
7. Miu Miu
One of the most viral fashion pieces of the year was the Miu Miu set with mini skirt and top, but that wasn’t the only important moment for the brand. Miu Miu launched New Balance 574 sneakers that were instantly popular and speaking of footwear, the brand’s ballerina flats were also a hit. Staring Sydney Sweeney in the campaign Miu Miu launched the Miu Wander bag which is one of the most popular bags of the year!
Miu Miu continues its rise to the top, earning its place in the list of the Hottest Brands of 2022!
8. Fendi
For Fendi the year started with a Y2K inspired collection presented on Milan Fashion Week that was a big success. This year the brand also dropped their collaboration with Versace called Fendace, that was a big deal among the fans of the brand. This year also marked the 25-year anniversary of the Fendi Baguette, the brands most iconic bag.
And speaking of bags the brand also launched two new bags, the Fendigraphy and the O’Lock Swing.
9. Diesel
This was an incredible year for Diesel, with a new creative director the brand is at an all time high! Under creative director Glenn Martens the once dormant Diesel brand has erupted, and the new Diesel is now delivering on both a creative and commercial level. The 1DR bag is proving to be a powerful hero accessory, instantly recognizable with big, bold branding front and center and was one of the most popular bags of the year! Diesel was worn by Megan Thee Stallion, Julia Fox and Kylie Jenner, it was also super popular on social media.
With the return of 2000’s fashion trends, is natural we’ll see popular brands from that time coming back, and that is what is happening with Diesel.
10. Versace
2022 was a big year for the Italian brand! The year started with a big campaign stared by the creative director Donatella Versace and the supermodels Gigi and Bella Hadid. Versace dressed several celebrities for red carpets, like Dua Lipa and Megan Thee Stallion, making the brand very popular on social media. The brand’s fall/winter collection, showed in February was a big success, and with Paris Hilton closing the show it was also a viral moment for Versace.
Versace is always iconic, and this year was no different.
