Out of hundreds of designer bags available I have my favorites. Here I’ll show you my favorite bags of the year, from some new launches to classics that will always be favorites.
So, without further ado here are My Favorite Designer Bags of 2024:
1. Dior Lady D-Joy Bag
Reinterpreting in a horizontal format the Lady Dior, an icon of the House symbolically associated with Lady Diana, the Lady D-Joy is an amazing choice for 2024. The Lady D-Joy bag captures the House’s vision of elegance and beauty. Crafted in lambskin with Cannage stitching, it is enhanced by pale gold-finish metal D.I.O.R. charms embellishing its silhouette. Featuring one removable chain shoulder strap and another adjustable and removable leather crossbody strap, the Lady D-Joy bag can be carried by hand or worn crossbody as a daily companion.
This is a new take on one of the most classic and iconic luxury bags ever, it will always be a staple in your collection.
2. Hermès Kelly Bag
One of the most classic bags ever, the Kelly is one of my all time favorite designer bags! In 1935 Émile-Maurice Hermès diversified the brands offerings designing a bag for his wife to carry. Called the Sac à Dépêches the bag was practical and elegant with a classic style. The accessory achieved worldwide recognition in 1956 when the American actress and princess of Monaco Grace Kelly used her Sac à Dépêches to cover her pregnant belly from the paparazzi. As soon as the photo of that is published on the cover of Life Magazine women from all over the world start running to Hermès asking for the Kelly Bag. In response the brand changed the bags name to the Kelly, and history was made.
Today an icon of elegance and sophistication, the Kelly is one of the most sought-after bags on the resale market, not only for its timeless style but also for the enduring allure of the woman it is named after.
3. Aspinal of London Mayfair Bag
The Princess of Whale’s Kate has proven herself as a huge fan of British brand Aspinal of London after carrying their chic styles on multiple occasions. The iconic Mayfair offers refined vintage styling with a contemporary flair, perfect for transitioning from weekday meetings to evening events. Handcrafted from the finest full-grain leather, the compact design features the recognizable signature shield lock synonymous with this memorable collection, which opens to unveil a luxurious grosgrain lining with a central zipped compartment and open pockets to either side. You can carry it by the top handle, or wear across the body using the detachable chain strap. Elegant and timeless this is a bag meant for royalty, it would be an amazing addition to any handbag collection!
This bag is just as amazing as any designer bag on the market, but is sold for a fraction of the price!
4. Alaïa Le Teckel Bag
Named after the French word for the Dachshund dog breed, this is the most elegant and trendy east-west bag for summer 24. Characterized by the elongated silhouette and long top handles that fit over the shoulder the bag can take you through any occasion. The sleek proportions boast plenty of space for everyday essentials.
Designed by creative director Pieter Mulier, this will be one of the trendiest bags of the season!
5. Savette Symmetry Bag
Founded by designer Amy Zurek, Savette honors traditional leather craftsmanship done in a more modern manner. Each handbag is made with longevity in mind—the intention being to pass it down from generation to generation. The Symmetry family celebrates geometry in its purest forms: parallel and perpendicular lines.
Available in pouch, shoulder and crossbody variations this is one of the most elegant and paired back bags you will ever find! It will be super popular for summer 2024!
6. DeMellier New York Tote
This eternally chic British brand that is a favorite of the royal family is well known for its classic designs, and this tote is the epitome of quiet luxury! The tote is inspired by the amazing New York City, its energy, architecture and people. Its modern yet timeless silhouette, and subtle luxury finish such as the soft grained leather and the gold belted detail makes it the perfect day bag. The roomy cotton lined interior features a zip pocket and slip pocket and can easily hold all everyday essentials plus A4 files or a laptop.
This is an amazing everyday bag, you can take it from work to a casual lunch and even to the airport!
7. Chanel Coco Handle
Also known as the ‘Flap Bag with Handle’ Chanel released this bag in 2015. The style received mixed reviews at the time. Critics said it was too similar to other Chanel styles. However, the Chanel Coco Handle has stood the test of time and is a fond favorite among many Chanel enthusiasts. The Chanel Top Handle features Chanel’s classic codes we all know and love, like the diamond quilting, the flap, the interlocking CC logo, and the chain strap, but with the addition of its distinctive feature: the top handle.
This is a beautiful Chanel bag that is a little less serious than the classic styles but is still super chic! This is an all time favorite of mine.
8. Bottega Veneta Andiamo Tote
Introduced in Matthieu Blazy’s Summer 23 collection, Andiamo is the new icon of the house! Its name, Andiamo, “Let’s go” in Italian, embodies the spirit of the bag, a tribute to going places and the concept of craft in motion. The bag features a timeless Intrecciato silhouette woven by hand. A metal knot adorns and fastens the sliding braided straps, allowing it to be adjusted over the shoulder or across the body, giving the bag a soft tapered volume.
It will fit all your everyday essentials and is the ultimate expression of quiet luxury! I love this bag!
9. Loewe Puzzle Fold Tote
The Puzzle has been a Loewe icon since it was launched in 2014, and now the new iteration of the style is the fold tote. The Puzzle Fold Tote takes the iconic bag’s signature geometric lines and reimagines them in graphic and architectural panels that allow the bag to fold completely flat, making it the perfect travel companion. Soft, lightweight and inventively crafted, it is finished with discreet LOEWE branding. Tote bags are a staple for everyday life and this one is elegant, practical and beautiful.
This is one of my favorite launches of the year, it would be an amazing everyday bag!
10. Saint Laurent Manhattan Bag
The brand might be best known for their bags with the YSL logo, but this is an amazing quiet luxury option and my favorite Saint Laurent bag! Saint Laurent’s ‘Manhattan’ shoulder bag is named after the city that never sleeps, which is why it’s well-suited to styling both night and day. Made in Italy from leather, it has a slender buckled strap securing the flap front and a slip pocket inside for your cardholder and phone. There are versions with and without the top handle, as well as shoulder and crossbody iterations. Its architectural silhouette is free of unnecessary embellishments, it is an elegant bag with a classic style.
A chic and understated Saint Laurent bag it is perfect for everyday wear!
