And we’ll compare two of the most classic Louis Vuitton Bags! So without farther ado are is the battle between the Louis Vuitton Speedy and the Louis Vuitton Alma!
The History of the Louis Vuitton Speedy:
The Speedy bag is one of the most classic and iconic bags of the brand! In 1930 the brand designed the Keepall weekender bag as a response for the advances in transportation and the new need for a compact and lightweight bag. It wasn’t until the 1960’s that the Speedy took the form that we known today. Audrey Hepburn commissioned Louis Vuitton to custom make her a smaller version of the Keepall, one that was fit for everyday life. After being spotted multiple times with the bag in hand Audrey has helped the Speedy become one of the most iconic bags ever designed! In 2011 Louis Vuitton launched the Speedy Bandoulière, a softer version of the style with an adjustable and detachable shoulder strap. Perfect for everyday wear and stylish enough for any occasion, this is a bag that will never go out of style!
The History of the Louis Vuitton Alma Bag:
The Alma is one of the most classic bags of the brand and it has a history that is worth getting to know! Rumor goes that the Alma was originally made for Coco Chanel in 1925 as a custom order. It’s rounded shape and two top handles are inspired by Art Deco, it is as iconic today as it was 100 years ago. In 1934 the Alma was made available for purchase for the general public. And history was made. Its unmistakable shape makes this compact bag a timeless classic. There are multiple colors and materials to choose from, as well as sizes. It also comes with a detachable strap so you can wear this bag as a crossbody or top handle. There is an Alma bag for every taste.
The Alma bag was the only non-Chanel bag that Coco Chanel ever carried. If it was good enough for Chanel it is good enough for me!

It is hard to choose between the two most classic Louis Vuitton Bags! Both have timeless designs, distinctive monogram print, are practical and stylish. Additionally, they both cost about the same. So it is all about taste. And since I’m a big fan of top handle, the Alma is my favorite! But the Speedy is an amazing travel bag, so if that is what you are looking for, go for it!
