Fashion month continues at full speed and with the end of Milan fashion week I thought I would show you the most amazing bags that appeared on the runaways! Milan fashion week has some of the most innovative and interesting shows to watch. It is filled with amazing designers and incredible collections, all backgrounded by the beautiful city that Milan is. From Gucci to Prada the bags I’ll show you here will likely be the it bags of next fall winter. And stay tuned on my channel because I’ll also bring you the best bags from Paris Fashion Week!

So, without further ado here are The Best Bags From Milan Fashion Week Fall 23:

Bottega Veneta

For fall/winter 23 creative director Matthieu Blazy presented his third collection for Bottega, continuing with his vision of fashionable but wearable clothes. For this collection the designer was inspired by the streets, he said: “the idea of the strange encounter—people that you meet in the street and they really amaze you. It’s a place where everyone belongs,”. There were looks for all occasions, from nightgowns and house slippers, to structured outerwear and some beautiful gowns. Leather is always a staple in Bottega Veneta collections, but this season Blazy also presented amazing embroidered and fringed pieces.

As for the bags they were quintessentially Bottega Veneta. The hit of last year, the Sardine bag came back in new shapes and sizes and also with Murano Glass handles. There were several beautiful intrecciato bags, from hobos to flaps, all of them wearable and chic.

In essence this collection is nothing new, is beautifully designed and carefully crafted timeless pieces, all we love to see from Blazy`s Bottega Veneta.

Ferragamo

Creative director Maximilian Davis presented his fall/winter collection this Millan Fashion Week, it is his second for the Italian house and continues on his mission of modernizing the iconic brand. Davis was inspired by the houses golden age, the 50`s and 60`s, when Ferragamo clients included Audrey Hepburn and Marilyn Monroe. The silhouettes were retro inspired fused with a modern aesthetic, they were elegant but still a bit futuristic. From beautiful coats to party dresses this collection did not disappoint!

As for the bags we saw classic symbols of the house in contemporary shapes and colors. The Gancini buckle appeared in clutches, totes and work bags. There were several flaps and top handles that are quiet and chic. We can also see several large totes that prove that the oversized bag trend is here to stay.

Overall the collection is elegant, modern and updates the Maison without alienating the consumers of the brand, that love Ferragamo for its chic and timeless style.

Fendi

For Fall/Winter Kim Jones continues his quest to showcase what is fundamentally Fendi. With that in mind he took Haute Couture elements and blended them in the ready to wear collection. He also was inspired by the personal style of Delfina Delettrez Fendi, daughter of Silvia Venturini Fendi, that is translated in the color palette of blue and brown and in the pleated skirts and suits inspired by her former Roman school uniform. But the bags, designed by Silvia Venturini Fendi, were the real star of the show.

The Fendi Baguette was presented in various sizes and materials, the standout piece was the multi-pocketed iteration. The Peekaboo was also of note in a beautiful woven leather and embossed crocodile, as was the Fendi First. Silvia presented two new bags for fall, the Fendi C`mon is an elegant flap that is practical and elegant for everyday wear, varying from a shoulder to a crossbody bag. The second new bag presented by the brand is the Fendi Multi, transforming from a tote to an evening bag in one swift move this multipurpose bag is an interesting addition to the brand’s offerings.

What an amazing Fendi bag collection! Fendi bags were some of The Best Bags From Milan Fashion Week Fall 23!

Gucci

The first collection after the departure of creative director Alessandro Michelle was designed by Gucci’s in house design team, before the new director Sabato de Sarno presents his debut collection in September. The collection showcased various styles and codes of the house, from 90`s Tom Ford inspired pieces to Michelle reminiscent styling. The looks paid an homage to Gucci’s heritage, in my opinion it was a kind of palate cleanser before the new creative director takes the helm.

As for the bags, some old shapes were revived and made new again. The oversized Horsebit Baguette from the Tom Ford Era was a popular staple in 2003 and was the standout piece of this fall 23 collection. A retro shoulder bag with a thin horse bit hardware was also of note, as was a crescent shaped chain shoulder bag. The Jackie was presented in a bigger iteration, that in my opinion will be perfect for fall/winter 23!

Overall the collection was still very much based on Michelle’s vision for the brand, I’m excited to see what the new creative director will bring to the brand.

Gucci Fall 23

Prada

For her fall/Winter collection Miuccia Prada told Vogue: “Mainly what I care about now is to give importance to what is modest, to value modest jobs, simple jobs, and not only extreme beauty or glamour,”. This collection was an homage not only to the seamstress and artisans of fashion but also to some of the most important workers in the world. Prada redesigned nurse and military uniforms, to honor the humble, caring acts of the people who wear them. From outerwear to full skirts and tailoring this was a beautiful and sensible Prada collection.

This season the brand did something different: instead of showcasing various bag styles they presented one new bag in many ways. A structured, trapezoidal-shaped bag with sleek formed leather was introduced, some with flower detailing. The bag is inspired by the classic triangle logo of the house and was showcased in many colors fit for any occasion. The in-between size, fit for everyday life but also for evenings, makes me wonder if this was Pradas way of presenting that one essential bag for women.

Instead of the never-ending bag collections we see around, this is one bag that is practical and elegant, all we could need in a designer bag.
