Today I caught myself thinking: If I were to buy one bag from each of the most prominent luxury houses, which bag would I buy So here I’ll show you the bags I would buy right now from each brand, you will see some classics but also some new launches I love!
So, without further ado here are The Best Designer Bags from Each Brand to Buy Right Now:
1. Hermès Picotin
Hermès has many bags I would love to have, but right now my favorite is the Picotin! Hermès references its origins with the Picotin, whose name is the French word for the measure of feed given to a horse. This Hermès handbag is a popular style thanks to its minimalist, functional design, inspired by horse feed bags. The wide, round shape of the bucket bag allows you to fit all your necessities with ease, and the lock closure provides a sophisticated accent. This Hermès bag comes in soft, grained leather that gives the bag a timeless look or in canvas with leather accents, providing a sportier feel. The Picotin leather comes in a variety of colors with either palladium or gold hardware.
The Picotin is perfect for someone who needs a casual, simple bag for an on-the-go lifestyle. It is one of The Best Designer Bags from Each Brand to Buy Right Now!
2. Chanel Classic Flap
The Chanel handbag that would ultimately become synonymous with the brand was not created until 1983. The Chanel Classic Double Flap was first introduced when Karl Lagerfeld became creative director and decided to reinterpret Chanel’s iconic 2.55 Flap Bag. From his artistic vision came two new features – a leather woven chain and Double C turn-lock closure. Lagerfeld’s Classic Double Flap was a breakout success.
Almost forty years later, and out of all the Chanel handbags on the market, the Classic Double Flap remains one of the most sought-after pieces ever crafted.
3. Louis Vuitton Alma
One of the most classic top-handles ever, I would love to have the Alma in my collection! Rumor goes that the Alma was originally made for Coco Chanel in 1925 as a custom order. Its rounded shape and two top handles are inspired by Art Deco, it is as iconic today as it was 100 years ago. In 1934 Coco gave permission for Louis Vuitton to sell the bag to the public and history was made. Its unmistakable shape makes this compact bag a timeless classic. There are multiple colors and materials to choose from, as well as sizes. It also comes with a detachable strap so you can wear this bag as a crossbody or top handle. There is an Alma bag for every taste.
The Alma bag was the only non-Chanel bag that Coco Chanel ever carried. If it was good enough for Chanel it is good enough for me!
4. Dior Lady 95.22 Bag
One of the most classic and iconic bags in recent fashion history, the Lady Dior is now reinvented. Revealed at the Dior autumn-winter 2022-2023 ready-to-wear show, the Lady 95.22 bag revisits the House’s unique heritage with modernity. An ode to the link between past and present, it reinvents the lines of the Lady Dior and echoes the year 1995, the date of the icon’s creation, and 2022, the year of this original reinterpretation. Its ultra-contemporary, subtly curved silhouette makes it a fashion statement, a promise of a bold and sophisticated look. The two handles, delicately refined with leather and metal, are punctuated with “Dior” charms, evoking the lucky-charms of Monsieur Dior.
This bag promises to be a new staple of the house, is a classic shape with a modern spirit, I am really in love with this one.
5. Saint Laurent Le 5 à 7
One of the newest launches of the brand this hobo bag fuses a vintage shape with a modern spirit, resulting in a beautiful bag that is quiet while still being fun. This Saint Laurent Hobo bag is neutral enough so you can pair with anything, but still interesting enough to give an exciting accent to any look. It’s compact but will still hold everything you need, the signature YSL logo at the clasp gives it major vintage appeal, and it is as timeless as it gets. Plus, its hobo shape makes it very trend-forward. This bag is new but is already iconic of the brand, it is one of the most popular bags right now.
If I had to choose one bag from the recent launches to say will become a classic, I would say is this one. This is a beautiful timeless bag you will love for many years to come and you can take it from day to a night out!
6. Prada Galleria Bag
Few things are more classic than the Prada Galleria bag, rooted in tradition, the Galleria is more than just a bag, it’s an icon. Though the bag was originally introduced in 2007, the history of the bag dates back to Prada’s humble beginnings. The bag gets its name from the “Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II”, which is where Mario Prada opened his first store in Milan in 1913. A hallmark of Prada’s 21st century identity, the design was first offered in Saffiano leather – a scratch and water-resistant calfskin, a material patented by Mario Prada and still a hallmark of the brand today. Reminiscent of the frame-shapes and medicine-style bags popular in the mid-century, the Galleria bag references classic styles of the past while remaining current.
This bag represents everything that Prada’s DNA is rooted in and I would love to have this bag in my collection!
7. Gucci Jackie 1961
Like the enduring allure of the woman it’s named after, The Jackie is a bag that will never go out of style. In 1961, Gucci introduced a Hobo-style bag that caught the eye of Jackie Kennedy, whose husband so famously loved Gucci’s loafer moccasins. It’s said that upon seeing a paparazzi image of Jackie Kennedy with the bag (then called the Fifties Constance), the Gucci family quickly christened the bag the Jackie. The classic hobo-shape saw many iterations under Tom Ford and Frida Giannini, but its latest incarnation comes by way of Michele, who in 2021 gave us a spin on The Jackie with a bit more structure, an adjustable strap, and a piston closure. Brought back to the forefront, the recognizable shape is presented in many materials like leather and the GG Supreme canvas.
My favorite Gucci bag, the Jackie will always be an icon!
8. Fendi Peekaboo
Designed by Silvia Venturini Fendi this bag was first presented at Fendi’s Spring 2009 show. This is the only bag a woman would be recommended to wear unfastened and unlocked. The Peekaboo has been designed with several compartments and a double closure so that it can be worn half-open – or half-closed. When it is only half closed, the bag hints at a color, texture, or leather creating a surprising contrast – hence its name. It comes in exotic leathers, fur and calfskin, and also comes in multiple colors, patterns and sizes. The Peekaboo is sleek, classic and timeless, and it is no surprise that it instantly became beloved amongst celebrities and stylish women around the globe.
The Peekaboo is my favorite Fendi bag, it has a classic style that will always be chic! It is one of The Best Designer Bags from Each Brand to Buy Right Now!
9. Bottega Veneta Andiamo Tote
Introduced in Matthieu Blazy’s Summer 23 collection, Andiamo is the new icon of the house! Its name, Andiamo, “Let’s go” in Italian, embodies the spirit of the bag, a tribute to going places and the concept of craft in motion. The bag features a timeless Intrecciato silhouette woven by hand. A metal knot adorns and fastens the sliding braided straps, allowing it to be adjusted over the shoulder or across the body, giving the bag a soft tapered volume. It will fit all your everyday essentials and is the ultimate expression of quiet luxury!
This is the new it bag of the brand, I’m loving its quiet, chic and stylish design!
10. Celine 16 Bag
The first bag designed by Hedi Slimane, the Celine 16 bag was launched in 2018. First spotted on the arm of Lady Gaga at the end of August 2018, the boxy, black leather top-handle handbag features discreet gold hardware and a Celine logo. It has been named the 16 after the location of the brand’s headquarters and atelier in Paris. It comes in three sizes and a range of colors. Featuring a sleek and minimal profile, the Celine 16 Bag recaptures some of the House’s historic codes from the 60’s, such as the cropped flap and rounded belt accents. In the last four years Celine released different version of the 16 bag, like the soft and the bucket.
This is a timeless and elegant bag I love! It is one of the best Celine bags!
