10 Tips to Getting the Best Wardrobe Ever

Welcome to our list of the 10 Tips to Getting the Best Wardrobe Ever!

Getting dressed in the morning can be an easy or a dreaded task, and even the best dressers can get in a style rut. If you are tired of your wardrobe or want to improve your style for the new year, these 10 easy tips will help you do so! Following these easy steps guarantees a more elegant and stylish wardrobe.

So, without further ado here are 10 Tips to Getting the Best Wardrobe Ever:

10. Know your wardrobe

The first step to improving your wardrobe is actually know what is on it. I bet you have at least some pieces in the back of the closet you have forgotten about. Before buying something new you need to be sure of what is in your closet, so you know you can actually style the new piece. This tip is also about decluttering, the fewer pieces you have the easier it is to style an outfit, if you haven’t worn that piece in a year, donate it.

If you know your wardrobe inside out, you will not buy pieces you don’t need and I promise it will be much easier to pick out an outfit.

9. Try new brands

Maybe the reason why you are in a style rut is because you need new inspiration and new pieces. I’m not saying you should ditch your favorite brand, if it works for you, stick to it, but there are so many new and amazing brands that are worth taking a look at! From high-end to mid-range brands, explore what is out there and you’ll find some unique pieces no one else has!

And if you are unsure of where to start, here on my channel you’ll find many amazing brands you might not know.

8. Don’t buy something that is not your style

Don’t ever feel pressured to buy into a new trend if it doesn’t fit your personal style! This might seem obvious, but sometimes when everyone is wearing that one jacket it can get tempting to follow along. Before buying something think to your self: would I still buy this if it wasn’t a trend? If the answer is no, don’t buy it.

If a piece of clothing doesn’t make you feel like your best self, it doesn’t belong in your closet.

7. Don’t buy something just for one occasion

We all do it. When we have a special event like a wedding or a party we feel the urge to go out and buy something new to wear. As much fun as it is to buy a new dress, this is not what we should be doing. Even if we love that new dress you ave to admit it does not get more than one outing. Instead of buying something for a specific even, try having a few dressier pieces in your wardrobe that are versatile and fit for the most special occasions. If you go for something simple and more classic, rather than a trendy piece, you’ll be able to wear it again and again.

And with the right accessories it will be a whole new look.

6. Build your capsule wardrobe

A capsule wardrobe is a small selection of clothes that are easy to mix and match and that really complement each other. These pieces are mostly classics that will never go out of style and with neutral colors. A capsule wardrobe allows you to create a variety of different outfits and will make choosing your look a lot easier. Make sure you have reliable wardrobe staples: an iconic little black dress, a pair of jeans that fit perfectly, a classic blazer, simple T-shirts and button-downs in neutral colors, and an effortless jacket whether in leather, jeans or tweed, that’s up to you. Investing in good quality pieces and learning how to style them is the key to always look put together. And another great thing is that a capsule wardrobe made of classic staples is super easy to combine with the trendiest pieces of the season.

5. Don’t buy something on impulse

Let me paint you a picture: you fell you have nothing to wear and hates everything you own, so you go on an extravagant shopping spree and ends up with several trendy pieces you don’t even like a few months later. Sounds familiar? When we buy something on impulse chances are we are making a mistake. Rather than having a shopping spree once or twice a year, try buying a few quality pieces now and then, pieces that complement your wardrobe. Try taking note of the things you feel are missing on your closet, and buy them as needed. Think about building your wardrobe like an ever evolving process, and not something you need to start over every few months.

In return you’ll have a more thought out wardrobe that will lead to more elegant and stylish outfits!

4. Don’t buy something just because it is on sale

Similar to the last item, you also shouldn’t give in to impulse buying just because it is on sale. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good discount, but big markdowns and sales are only for buying things you need in your wardrobe. Make a list of the things you need and buy them once they are on sale, this way you’ll have a functional wardrobe that won’t be filled with pieces you don’t even wear.

Remember, no matter how big the discount, if you never wear it, is a waste of money!

3. Create a uniform

A big misconception is that stylish people are always creating new outfits with new ideas. The most stylish women know what looks good on them and they stick to it. I’m not saying your whole wardrobe should consist of the same two pieces or that you shouldn’t try new things, but having a uniform is the easiest way to get dressed when in a hurry. Keep it simple, stick to what you know and once you are comfortable with that create new variations and try new styles.

This way getting dressed will not only be easy but it will also be fun.

2. Don’t keep something that doesn’t fit

Throughout our lives our body changes and that is completely normal, what is not ok is holding on to something that used to fit, but doesn’t any more. Buying a size too small or keeping a piece that doesn’t fit anymore in the hopes that it will again once you loose wait is not only keeping your closet dysfunctional it is also not good for your mental health. Be honest with yourself and embrace your new body, buy only what actually fits and I promise you’ll feel so much better!

Always remember: if it doesn’t fit, it doesn’t belong in your closet!

1. Invest in quality pieces

In an age of fast fashion, having quality pieces that last is a true luxury. Having pieces that look good on you, are made using quality material, are ethically crafted and will last is what you should strive for! Elegant women don’t have a wardrobe full of disposable pieces, they have few investment pieces that they keep throughout their lives. Always remember: quality over quantity!
