Long gone are the times when shoes were made only for practical reasons, now they are luxury items that are as expensive as they are pretty. The world is filled with expensive shoes, but here you’ll see the most expensive ones! And beware, the prices of these shoes are not for the fainthearted! I actually had no idea a shoe could cost this much!

1. Moon Star Shoes by Antonio Vietri – $19.9 million
In October 2019, Italian designer Antonio Vietri debuted the world’s most expensive shoe — the “Moon Star Shoes,” valued at almost $20 million! They were showcased on a yacht in Dubai as part of MIDE (Made in Italy, Designed in Emirates) Fashion Week. Consisting of a solid gold heel, 30 carats of diamonds, and a bit of an Argentinian meteorite, the shoes are record-breaking. According to Forbes Italia, the shoes are a tribute to Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, which is the tallest building in the world.
Can you imagine paying $20 million for a pair of shoes?! Where would you even wear it?
2. Jada Dubai and Passion Jewelers Passion Diamond Shoes – $17 million
Luxury footwear designer Jada Dubai in collaboration with Passion Jewellers unveiled, what is currently known as the second most expensive shoe in the world. Showcased for the first time in the iconic Burj Al Arab in Dubai, the stiletto shoes are made of gold, leather and silk. They feature as many as 236 diamonds, along with a 15-carat D-flawless diamond near the toes.
It took nine months to complete this shoe design.
3. Debbie Wingham Heels – $15.1 million
The handmade stiletto shoes are made from leather with a 24K gold coating, stitched together with 18K gold thread. The pink and blue diamonds on the stilettos are extremely rare and large, costing about €11 million alone. To add to the value and extravagance of the shoes, four flawless three carat white diamonds and 1,000 pointer diamonds are used to emphasize the cake-like design of the shoes. The zips and plaques underneath the shoes are solid gold.

4. Harry Winston Ruby Slippers – $3 million
To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the classic Wizard of Oz, Harry Winston’s son Ronald designed this iconic shoe. They feature 4,600 rubies (a total of 1,350 carats), 50 carats of diamonds, and took two months to create. These gorgeously over-the-top shoes really are in a category all their own.
With a price tag of $3 million, they are far more lavish than the original shoes, that were adorned only with simple red sequins.
5. Stuart Weitzman Rita Hayworth Heels – $3 million
The shoe is crafted with a pair of earrings worn by the Hollywood star Rita Hayworth, and are the most expensive Stuart Weitzman shoe. Unlike other luxury shoes, this one takes a step back from the usual bling and present us with a muted shade of Sienna Satin. The earrings are prominently featured in the middle of the shoes and elevate the whole look to sheer poetry. Despite its understated elegance, this pair features various types of precious gemstones, from diamonds to sapphires to rubies in a satin ruffle.
Valued at $3 million, these open-toed heels are not for sale – they are the property of Hayworth’s daughter, Princess Yasmin Aga Khan.
